Catch up

So I haven't posted in ages, but I am alive and I've done some cool things this summer:
Planned the Opening Ceremonies of the Utah Summer Games.
Worked a lot.
Made new friends.
Saw A LOT of the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
Expanded my horizons.
Worked at a private event in SLC where some well known artists performed.
Got a new job. I am the new Event Assistant in the Alumni House at Southern Utah University. I have some big shoes to fill.

It's been pretty great.

Here's what I wore today to my friend's homecoming:

Blouse: Forever 21 Skirt: Banana Republic Shoes: Payless (win!) Bag: H&M Jewelry: Forever 21/Spain

Mildly obsessed with Les Misérables. And cheesing for the iPhone.

Such a great friend. So glad I keep her around.

Not much else to say.

Barefoot in Stripes

Today's outfit:
Blazer: H&M
Blouse: Forever 21
Jeans: Big Star (strange, I know)

Today's accessories:

Necklace: Forever 21
Earrings: Paparazzi (purchased at a jewelry party today)
Ring: Spain

I stayed late up to register last night at 12:01 am.
The server crashed.
No registration possible.

On the bright side, I am changing my attitude and being more positive.
Life really is beautiful.
There are blossoms on the trees.
My birthday is in 17 days (not that I'm counting).

P.S. Please, forgive the awful photography. Last minute photo in my sister's bedroom. Holla.

Springing into Monday

I spent the weekend soaking up the heat in Phoenix {obviously, I got really tan...}.
Sadly, I only got to see a few of my Phoenician friends.
We did some shopping, bonding and definitely did some eating.
I found myself dreading the return to Cedar, but fortunately, the weather has been lovely.
Side note, totally obsessing over "Diva" by Beyonce.

Jean Shirt (again): Charlotte Russe
Dress: H&M
Shoes: H&M
Jewelry: Spain

Hope you had a lovely Easter weekend.

Awkward Sunday

Sunday morning, I woke up with a goose egg.
And don't be confused, I didn't hit my head on Saturday.
My best guess is that I had some crazy dream and whacked my head on my head board in my sleep?
It still hurts.
If you see me, please don't stare.

And now, the current things I'm coveting:

Aqua Skinny Ponte Pants {$26.90)

Jacquard Chiffon Peasant Dress {$29.80}
I'm just waiting to find my sugar daddy, so I can buy everything I want. Hook a sister up.

I wish

I wish I was one of those hip and fashionable people who post photos of their outfits. You know, and then, people love it and think they're fabulous. Unfortunately, I'm not. I would like to post a photo every now and then though. I sometimes like what I wear. Today is one of those days. It's okay to feel cool, right? Anyway, here's what I'm wearing:

Blouse: Victoria's Secret
 Cardigan: Forever 21
 Legging Jeans: Gap
 Shoes: H&M
Well, that was fun and it makes me feel vulnerable. Don't hate on my outfit, please.

Pretty Preppy

I just want to go shopping.

I want to spend lots of money on new
clothing items.

Colorblocked Linen Jacket

Sleeveless Pleated Dress
Crisscross Platform Wedges

Instead, I am saving my money.
But I could really love this look with some fun accessories and belt. Good ol' Forever 21.

Kickin' Off My Sunday Shoes

I went and saw Footloose on Friday night. I was nervous, because I am a BIG fan of the original and I feared the second one wouldn't compare. So wrong.

I LOVED it.

There were so many things I loved. I loved (some of) the fashion, the music and the actors.

They had Ren dressed up so nicely! Sweater vests, cardis, and jean on jean. I was loving his outfits. Even when he was just rocking jeans and button up, they spiced it up by rolling his sleeve and undershirt up. The jean on jean was blowing my mind. It usually doesn't work, but Ren was rocking it. He even wore attractive male boots. What? Attractive male boots? Yeah, it happened in this movie. Hated Ariel's prom dress. I get it. It was throw back to the original, but it was bad. I loved Ren's prom outfit, I mean c'mon. Red blazer and a bow tie? Yes please.

The music was fun too. I loved that the rebel song that Ren gets in trouble for blasting was "Black and Yellow." I laughed out loud about that. I liked that they spiced it up with some current sounds.

The actors were killin' it! Kenny Wormald made a fantastic Ren. He was way less awkward than Kevin Bacon and more attractive. I liked that they said he was from Boston (not Chicago) and gave him an accent. Julianne Hough (as Ariel) did a great job. I expected to not like her in this movie, but she proved me wrong. She was bubbly and sweet (after she loses the attitude). Miles Teller (Willard) was my favorite. He was hilarious. I loved his jokes and great dancing. Ser'Darius Blain (Woody): so freakin' funny. "Add an extra two inches for me." I was definitely laughing harder than anyone on my row. He was great. Shaw (Dennis Quaid) surprised me (he even rocked a cardi). He did a great job. I definitely liked him more than the original.

The movie was great and yes, I've thought about seeing it again. LOVED it.
